Bay boats come in all shapes and sizes. A mass majority of our fishing charters are done on board bay boats here in Key West. In the boating industry, bay boats have taken over the market with number of units sold versus any other type of fishing boat.
Our choices in bay boats come in three types. Bathroom, no bathroom, and shade. Most anglers don’t need bathrooms or shade when fishing. The ladies love the bathroom option. We offer a choice.
Choosing A Bay Boat
Ask yourself about the group you will be fishing with. What is the number of persons in your group? What type of fishing are you looking to do? Are there any lady anglers? Is anyone super sensitive to the sun? Will there be fly fishing? Also, ask yourself how technical you want to be; our shallowest flats fishing bay boat has the fewest amenities. All of these questions are super important to us when we are helping you chose which one of our bay boats will suit you best. One thing you can count on; we have the nicest bay boats in Key West.

The Yellowfin 24 bay boats are wide open. Very large casting decks for fly fishing and spin fishing. Yellowfin 24 has no bathroom. The Yellowfins are the prettiest, fastest, and the most technical bay boats we have for fishing. They also make great flats fishing bay boats. Great for 2 anglers, okay for 3 and kind of crowded with 4, but we can do it.

Our Tidewater Bay Max 24 has shade and a bathroom, making it a very popular option for many of our trips. The T-top offers a good bit of shade, but it hinders a fly fisherman’s ability to cast. Able to carry 4 anglers very well, the Tidewater floats shallow for her size to allow access to the flats fishing or any environmentally sensitive areas for great fishing such as the Marquesas Keys Fishing and Marquesas Keys Adventure trips. Also, this is a great platform for sight seeing and snorkeling trips access for 4 persons or less.
The ActionCraft Coastal Bay Boat is an incredible 4 person bay boat for fishing and our busiest, most popular backcountry fishing boat with loads of room to move around. We call it the tarpon fishing machine. This boat currently has no shade (as of October 2024), but it has a full bathroom. It has awesome seating for a nice ride or for viewing wild life on eco-tours and it is also a great snorkeling platform.
