Marquesas Keys fishing trip is a fantastic full day adventure. Located 26 miles to the west of Key West we call it the road less traveled. The Marquesas Keys are a diverse fishery that offers world class flats fishing along with some amazing nearshore reef fishing, and even some shallow water shipwrecks that hold a myriad of fish. On our signature all in wonder fishing charter we do everything we can to cover as many different types of fishing and species as possible. We custom Taylor every single Tripp to the needs and desires of our anglers based on the conditions and what is available
Marquesas Keys Fishing Charter
Our journey begins at Sunset Marina located on Stock Island on board one of our custom built bay boats. Fueled up and ready to go your captain will greet you and go over the hopes and dreams of the anglers on board for the day that lies before you.
We only offer The Marquesas fishing charter in full 8 hour day for 3 persons or less. The trip out takes roughly 30 – 40 minutes to get to some of the first fishing spots on board our bay boats. We set the day up for what will be working best and what our anglers are anticipating.
Loaded with the best fishing gear made by DAIWA that money can buy we fish the Marquesas Keys with Spin fishing tackle and fly fishing gear. Your choice. We are always equipped with artificial lures, live bait and jigs for a great shot at all the species we will encounter.
Flats Fishing
Fishing the flats of the Marquesas is very rewarding. The Marquesas Keys are listed as one of the best places to flats fish for permit. Technical anglers will enjoy the hunt mixed with casting accuracy needed to catch a trophy permit or bonefish and many other species including large barracudas, jacks and cobia in the winter. There is a vast amount of flats fishing in the Marquesas Keys that keep the day interesting and fun. Our custom built bay boats are the best way to fish the flats, however we can set up a technical flats skiff on special request.
The All In Wonder Fishing Experience
All In Wonder Fishing Charter: The All In Wonder fishing charter is a great way to see it all. Try a piece of everything from the flats fishing to the reef in one day. This is a Dream Catcher Signature Fishing Charter. We incorporate a species hunt to help you try and sample as many different species of fish that are available on your day. The Marquesas Keys Fishing can be included in the All In Wonder.
Inshore Fishing The Marquesas
The inside of the Marquesas are like a shallow lake. A group of island surround the body of water called Mooney Harbor. Here there is tons of life. Tarpon, sharks, barracudas, Jacks and permit freely swim through. Our flats fishing boats pole you into location and our bay boats use trolling motors to get you silently to the fish to make your presentation and get you hooked up.
Shallow Ship Wrecks
Scattered all around are the shallow water wrecks that really hold some fun fish. Some are pretty close to the Marquesas and some are a bit of an additional run but well worth it. We find great fishing using top water plugs and fly fishing for large barracudas, jacks and cobia. Year round one never knows when a big school of hungrey (very large) permit will make their way past us offing an opportunity to catch one. Quite often we get double hook ups. Watch out for the bull sharks.
Nearshore Reef Fishing
Around the perimeter of the Marquesas Keys we have some amazing nearshore spots that really hold a mixed bag of fish. The light tackle spin fishing enthusiast will enjoy casting artificial lures and catching a fish every other cast. The water is breathatakingly clear and anglers really enjoy watching the fish eat the lure. It’s really a lot of fun. We use our bay boats here as they are able to work in a little deeper waters.
